Friday, Sweet Day

You know, if the day can start and close with no mishaps and a few woooohoooos, that's a good definition of a sweet day.  My day began as most days, couple cups of coffee, normally a good walk...passed on the that this morning, chores, breakfast...also passed on,  man,  what did I do this morning?  That's kind a scary!  Maybe I need skip to lunch, did fix that, then we headed out to Mobile Bay.  Shopped for dog food, then explored  Mobile Bay area near Daphe, AL.  Had a great time.  Weather was perfect...mid 70's, sunny, no wind.  Not many folks in area where we were.  We found a strip of beach, with a couple fishermen by a bridge, another on a pier, and then, maybe a half dozen water birds...awesome.  Tim sat on a bench, me,  I just walked.  Sadly, time slipped by to quickly, and Tim said it was time to go.  Boohoo.  Guess every good thing has to end.  Back home we go to fix supper.  And now, here I am, sharing my day with you.  Again, all this equals sweet.
I did pop a few pics...hope you enjoy!!!

Thursday, Great Day

Good Morning to all my wonderful family and friends.   And it is a good morning...sunny, minimal wind, awesome fellowship, yummy bowl of hot oats with blueberries and walnuts, and now chatting with y'all.  Who could ask for more!

Since the laptop was free, thought it was a perfect time to start my blogg.  Don't know how many of y'all had a clear night, but I did.  And I'm going to share the MAGNIFICENT full moon we had.

It only took 10 shots and a little cropping to get this
I love the sky and what it delivers...sunrise, sunset, full moon, many moons

                                                                        Love it all

Time for housework...yuck, am thankful though, I have a home to clean, a tiny home that doesn't take long.  I'll be back.   If you are reading this, please return later for the rest of today's happenings.

Have a great day!!!!

I'm back, back from the Hair Salon and dinner.  The trip to the hairdresser was loads of fun.  Not stressfull at all.  Allyson, the hair stylist was awesome, very talented, very reasonable, and close to our park.  Would definitely go back.

Lori thought Tim should take me out for dinner, cause of my new do.   You know I'm always ready for a dinner out.  So the four of us headed to Foley, Al to the Shrimp Basket...Tim's choice.  He had gone there when I went to visit Tina.  He enjoyed it, so back we went.  It was a good move, we all had yummy food.  But it was mostly fried foods.  Not super healthy, so probably won't be back for a while.

Hope everyone out there had a marvelous day also!!!

Wednesday, Calm Day

This has been a peaceful, quiet, uneventful day.  Walked a ways with both friends.  I love it.  When Lori and I walk, we step right out.  Then my walk with Joy, slow and smooth.  So, I do the best of two worlds.  Today started with a chilly morning, so I had 3 layers of clothing on.  By the time 4 + miles rolled around, I was down to my t-shirt.  And crazy tired!  Didn't get the bed made til after lunch.  That's supposed to be ok because I'm retired, right?   But I'm not quite sure.

I introduced Lori to Pinterest today.  That was fun.  That was also about it for today.  Tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut or maybe just trimmed.  That makes me very nervious.  I just can't wait for March to come, when I could have it done in NC.  Wish me luck.  I know it's only hair and it will grow back.  Still makes me anxious.

My DWTS couple did not win...Derek and Shawn did come in second.  Boo Hoo!!!

That's a rap.  See y'all tomorrow.

Tuesday, Blessed With Friendship

This has been a very rainy day.  Normally when the weather doesn't make it condusive to do things outside, my mood is dampened like the rain.  Not today though.  Tim's friend of over 50 years, Ralph and his wife Jan stopped by to see us.  I have been excited all day.  They were in Mobile for a funeral.  Something good can always come from something sad.  They arrived around 3ish.  The talking started then, and sadly ended about 9:00.  Even if many years have passed since our paths crossed, the warmth, and the laughter just bellowed out the coach windows.  What a joy it was to spend time with Ralph and Jan.  Tim and Ralph were roommates a few years ago.   My, how time flys.  We had pizza, chips, pop, ice cream and cookies for dinner.  I thinks that's all fun food, and that's what were having, fun! fun! fun!  Forgot to take pictures.  I did remember once, got my camera out and was waiting for dinner to be over.  Then, bye bye, it was out of my crazy head.  Ralph and Jan were gone a mere 5 minutes when I said," Oh no, forgot pictures."  Maybe no pictures, but we have a mountain of fabulous memories.

That's about it for today.

Monday Celebration Day

This has been another wonderful day.  It started with a gorgeous sunrise.  About a 3 mile walk.  A morning birthday cake break with happy wishes to Don.  Then a lengthly chat with fellow campers.  Just a great morning.

After a quick lunch, I ran into town for a little of this and that.  Back home to put the finishing touches on some Christmas decorations for the coach.  Took another mile walk with friend, Joy.  Finished just in time to freshen up before going out to dinner with Don, the birthday boy, and Lori.  We went to Lamberts in Foley, Al.  And yes, they really throw the rolls to you.  And yes, I was trying to catch a roll and take a picture at the same time.  That yummy warm roll hit the floor, while the pic was a big fat blurr.  So sweet Sydney tried again...both of us were winners.  Oh man, those giant rolls were delish, served with apple butter and/or molasses.  Along with the rolls, they serve  passers.  I know, what are passers?  Actually, that is more incredible food being passed, but not really thrown, to each table.  Like servers walk around with big buckets, dishing out spoonfulls of hot fried okra, macaroni and tomatoes...crazy good, also fried potatoes, black eyed peas, cabbage.  Think thats about it.  Now, after all that, where am I going to put my meal?  You guessed it, a to go box! I did eat about half of it, catfish and  greenbeans. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not worth the calories.  So I passed on them.  After eating so much, we decided to go to a mall, and walk off a roll or two.  Back home now, just chillin...and sharing my day with y'all.

Now for a few pics...enjoy

Sunday, Great Day in Alabama

This has been a wonderful day.  Woke up to 24 degrees, chilly morning.  Tim says we are not far enough south.  My friends, Lori and Don and I visited a church, Fairhope UMC, in neighboring city Fairhope.  We chose the Contemporary Service.  They had excellent music, most songs we knew, and good sermon.  Partaking of communion was our last blessing that ended today's service.  Hopefully we will be back next week.  A little lunch, then back to Emmaus Motor Coach and RV Park, our home for the next 4 months.

The afternoon brought football for Tim, and me...still reading Killing Lincoln.  It has been a beautiful sunny day.

Tomorrow is Don's birthday and we are going to Lamberts...a restaurant where they throw rolls at you.  It will be Tim and my first time there.  Will sure share that experience with y'all.

That's about it for now.  Still no posts of my pics.  I do know the problem is with the blogg and not the internet.  Still working on it.  Sure do miss that feature of this blogg.  Hope to get it fixed soon.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I am very blessed and thankful for my wonderful family and friends.  This has been a great day for us.  We had our thanksgiving meal at Cracker Barrel with our sweet friends, Lori and Don.  The food was great and the fellowship was even better.  Life is good.  Hoping everyone out there also had a super day.

A minute ago, looked out the window and saw the awesome sun setting.  Rushed out to capture it.  Enjoy it and the other pics of the day.

Wednesday, Another Day Of Firsts

Hey guys, before I share my happenings of today, I want to send a special Thanksgiving thanks to everyone reading this.  I am very blessed because of you!!!!

Now, for today.  The first, first...saw right in front of me, an alligator walking across the road.  No joke.  And of course, no camera.  My oh my!!!

Not much can top the alligator, but this is as exciting....saw many, many oil rigs in the Gulf Shores.  Spotted across the horizon and close up were oil rigs.  Yeah, this is not the Middle East.  Amazing, I just did not know we had oil rigs so close to me.  And don't really know why that excites me, but it does.

My day, started great.  Almost 6 miles walking, with two friends.  A little breakfast and then began to make dressing so I could sent the exact recipe to Jacki.  She and Geoff are cooking Thanksgiving dinner for a few friends and she wanted my dressing recipe.  Not knowing exactly how much celery and onions and broth to use, I decided to make some.  Not having a turkey, just bought the giblets.  I think I have shared with you before that I make the biggest mess cooking.  Now this teeny weeny kitchen area... ended up looking like a disaster happened.  The results, dressing was awesome.  The best part of Thanksgiving dinner for me, the dressing.

After lunch, Tim wanted to take a drive, to where you might ask...the beach.  He loves it.  Me too, now.  We are going back next week, same place, so I will be sure to pack my camera and binoculars.
Back home in time for dinner and another messy kitchen.  There is something to say about one meat and one veggi dinners, surely that should be enough.

Thats it for tonight. Will share a couple special birthday pics with you...

Man, computer is not cooperating.  Will try again later.

Monday, Fun Day

Hello y'all, hoping everyone reading this had a day, a wonderful day, like mine.  My joyous day began with an almost 4 mile walk with my neighbor friend, Joy.  Then came breakfast, laundry, and a simple lunch.  Headed out to the mall to purchase Tim a new pair of shoes.  That was an easy success. First pair he tried, he took.  Next, went to Kirkland and found the perfect red bows with lights made in, for the mirrors on the coach.  Tim wanted to walk the Gulf Shores Beach.  So we did.  Again, Tim wanted to go to LuLu's, a restaurant on the gulf waterway.  So we did.  Besides yummy food, we got to watch dolphins swimming around.  Absolutely awesome.  Simple blessings mean so much.

Our friends, Lori and Don will be here tomorrow...wooooohooooo.

If my internet holds up, I will post some pics from my Denver trip.
