Wednesday, Busy Day

Morning everyone, just returned from my first for the season, kayaking trip.  Once my nerves settled down, really enjoyed myself until...the wind kicked up, sky turned gray black, and the water wanted to be in charge.  I quickly paddled around, rocking back and forth, a little to much for me, but finally pointed my bow toward home. Then calmly but in total control paddled back to the launching ramp.  Once I maneuvered the kayak out of the water, with my arms feeling like stretched out rubber bands, decided to go get Tim so he could help me lift the kayak back on the stand.  All in all, it was a fun morning.

Doing a couple loads of laundry, resting my muscles, and watching Tim trying to connect a DirectTV receiver with our tv.  It's almost lunchtime, chicken salad and fruit is on the menu.  I have a hair appointment at 2:30. That should conclude my busy day, minus dinner.

I received an email yesterday from my dear friend Lori.  She also received an email concerning a couple we camped with two winters ago in Alabama.  Donn was diagnosed with cancer in his lungs, colon, and stomach, and has been given 3 months.  He is asking for any and all prayers.  He is 79 and a very special person.  Tim and I enjoyed spending the winter with him and Ginette.  My prayers are going out to Donn and his family.

That's it for now.  May or may not return, depending on any interesting happenings.
Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday, New FB Blog

Ok, I'm there.  I think.  Thanks to Jacki, I now have a blog on Facebook.  The name is Fulltime Sun Seekers.  I have been sending messages out today letting  the folks on my Facebook friends know this.  I need to request y'all to be friends.  But I am already friends with you, so can't figure out how to accomplish this.  Won't let it stop me, though.  I am sure there is a way.  Jessie could not find it.  I think the problem was, I was using Fulltime as two words.  So listen up guys, if I sent you a message today, the spelling of Fulltime should be one word, not two.  Here is my new blog's name...Fulltime Sun Seekers.  Same as before.  If anyone checks it out, maybe you can send me that friend request.  I'll try anything to get it going.  Thanks for y'all's help.  I really want to stay connected with each of you.  We will be heading west when leaving here after Labor Day,  and hopefully all the bugs will be worked out.  Then I can share our wonderful travels in words and awesome photos, with each of y'all.  The west is full of beauty.  So my desire is to share that beauty through my adventures.

Now, I wanted to share a funny happening during one of my nights at the bar.  Or maybe not so funny.   Can you believe two guests actually sat their cute little white fluffy puppy right on top of the bar.  And then that baby started running on the entire bar top.  The bar is an oval shape, and the owners thought it was hilarious.  Another couple there, absolutely did not.  They left and reported it to the manager.  It happened so quickly, I was flabbergasted.  Just another lesson for me to learn.  I've had so many.  Be kind of glad when the summer is over.

That's it for now.  Have a great evening.

Monday, A New Beginning

Hey guys, I'm back again.  As usual, not sure where to begin.  For me, it's easier to just share today.  Wow, what a day it has been.  Backing up a wee little bit, last Wednesday morning, Tim posted my cute, darlin, sweet, sunny yellow jeep on Craig's List. Fifteen minutes later, first call on it and it was gone.  So the new lucky owners from Winston Salem came Friday afternoon to take ownership.  Boo hoo!!  But life goes on.  Thursday morning as Tim was removing the listing on the jeep, noticed a new posting on a HHR SS.  The exact car he has been looking for for way over 6 months.  I was not ready for my jeep to leave me til now.  I called on the HHR. It was near the Charlotte Motor Speedway.  In two hours were placing a deposit on an almost perfect low mileage, 2008 silver HHR SS.  Now that brings us to today.  We picked it up around 11:00.  Had lunch...took the HHR to Auto Bell, then celebrated our buy at Cook Out with Tim enjoying a vanilla shake, me, a peanut butter banana with extra banana yummy in my tummy shake.  As if this was not enough to make a, Life is good day, Jacki called and wanted to come for dinner.  I must say, she just added the icing on the cake.  So spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and a big plate of fruit...watermelon, blackberries, strawberries, grapes, and pineapple was my supper of choice.

Jacki and Geoff brought us over a direct tv receiver.  She is adding us to their account.  Yahoo, is Tim's response to this awesome kindness.  Thanks guys.  A couple weeks ago, we purchased a new tv.    A 42" smart tv.  That's the biggest size we could get for the area we had.  A few days before that, we spent almost all day trying out recliners.    I bet I sat in over 20 to 30 chairs.  That evening, went back to hh gregg, which was,  by the way, our first stop, and ordered a very comfy power rocker recliner.  Now, Tim can watch his shows on the big screen in true comfort.

Now, for the new beginning.  Y'all know the troubles I have with this blog.  Ok, my thought is to open a Facebook account and post from that.  I will keep it private.  Only family and friends will be able to view it.  I'm hoping it will be easy for me to handle since I have some knowledge with FB.

It should be up and running tomorrow.  Will update you with the title.  It will not be my name.  So check back in the morning.  Can't wait.

Friday, More Excitement

Hello to each of y'all out there in this awesome world in which we are living.  It may be hot, humid, or stormy, but I know we can still find beauty.  I looked out my back window this morning and viewed the sparkling, wavy waters of Lake Norman.  With a flock of 25 Canada geese landing in the water, making ripples where the trees on the far side of the lake are mirrored in the pale blue, nearly translucent color of the lake, what a sight!

Now getting to the next bit of excitement to share, not the geese watching wasn't, it certainly was entertaining,  but Tim has been wanting a better tv for our living room for a while, so off we went yesterday morning to check um out.  What a stressful  project.  We made two trips to Mooresville Best Buy before we conquered our mission.  We ended up with a 42 Vizio Smart TV.  42in was the very biggest size we had room for.  It was a job getting it hung.  We managed though.  We did have to call in the troops...Jacki and Geoff, for help working the remote.  Thank goodness for my babies.  Thanks guys. You're the greatest!   I will share about this fantastic " boy toy" later.

It's almost time for our dinner before we both go to work.  So I'll close for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday, Excitement

I'm back again sharing with y'all our morning mission.  Buying a recliner for our coach.  What a hard job.  It had to be on the small side.  Not to much out there that we saw and liked in size small.  We did buy one today.  We will pick it up on Saturday.  Crossing my fingers that it's not to big.  I have tried to post a pic of it with no avail.  Someday posting my photos will work again.  Then I will have lots of catching up to do.

We also purchased a fireplace last week.  Again tried to upload a pic of it, and again, failed.  It's an electric fireplace, Amish made, light oak frame, with led lights for the flames.  Those flames look as real as possible.  I love it.  I know, we do not need one now, but one can never pass up a good deal.

Another new addition to our coach will be kitchen backsplash.  It is on schedule to arrive the end of the week.  Tim will install it next week.  He wants me out when he works on it.  I'm happy to oblige him.  Guess if the flights go in my favor, I'll be Ohio bound next Tuesday.  Then returning Thursday or Friday to enjoy my new additions.  So can't wait.  While in Ohio, I'll be able to celebrate Father's Day with my sweet daddy.  Again, so can't wait.  Also, I'll get to play with Trace and Gus, my great grandbabies.  Can't wait for that either.

That's it for tonight.  See y'all back here tomorrow, same time...same channel.

Monday, Day of Fun

I'm back again to share my day.  It started with doing paperwork related to the bar husiness.  Then headed out to meet my friends Kathy, Lynn, and Cindy.  We met at Birkdale, had lunch at Red Rocks.  I ordered crab cakes and potato cakes.  It was sooo yummy.  The other girls ordered chicken salad  and potato cakes. Also very yummy.  Our luncheon was very delightful.  Then we walked the area and went in a few stores.  I bought a pair of white pants...very nautical.  It has buttons on each side just like sailor pants.  They were long and a little belled at the bottom.  I remember having a pair very similar to these many years ago.  They even have a little tab in the back.  Guess I'll call them, my go to pants for summer travel and out to dinner.

I left the girls around 3 and headed for an appointment.  It went well.  Home was my last stop.  A quick dinner, then outside to enjoy the bright sun sparkling down on the lake.  Not to much longer and there will be a beautiful sunset.  I just know it.  Can't wait.  I love my sunsets.  I'm going to take a pic with my ipad and see if I can upload it.  Yes I have tried before, even paid a repair man to help me out with this horrible situation.  And as you can tell, to no avail.  Oh well, some day soon the problem will be solved.

That's about it for now.  Hoping y'all's day was as fantastic as mine.  I'll be back when the sun sets.

June 1, Sunday...I'm Back

Hey guys, we are back in North Carolina-Lake Norman RV Resort, 12 minutes from Jacki's and life is good again.  Still can't post photos on my blog, so until the I can or start a new blog, I will share my adventures with words alone.  Thanks to all who have continued to follow us.

I will briefly as possible share our last year.  We were here last summer, same place.  Left late Oct and headed to Daytona for the month of November.  Tim was able to see many street rods and a couple NC buddies.  Me, it was fun fun fun being with my sweet sis, Jeannie.  She lives in Orlando, about 45 minutes east of Daytona.

Tim's favorite location since starting this new life style, it has already been three years, my time flies, Gulf Shores, AL was our homespot Dec thru April.  That was an experience-some good and some lacking goodness. I was blessed with meeting new friends.  Hopefully life long friends.

Spent the first two weeks of May in Franklin, VA at Tim's previous Uhaul boss and good friend, Rays farm.  To ms mission was to get Rays old cars running.  One of which Tim had built for him.  It was a 33 dodge sedan delivery.  I stayed a week, then drove down to Jacki's to enjoy Mothers Day with her and Geoff.

May 15 was our start date at Lake Norman.  We are workamping here until the day after Labor Day.  Tim tends to the boat rentals and maintains them.  Now, before I tell you my job, if y'all are not sitting down, please do so.  You will not believe this.  I am the official "barmaid".  Ha ha, I know......
Working the events at The resort in Foley, AL, Bella Terra RV Resort gave me lots of experience serving beer and wine.  One night Tim was talking to Gregg, Lake Normans manager  about his job here and mentioned, as a joke, that I could run the bar because of all the parties and functions I worked over the winter.  Well, Gregg jumped at it and here I am.

I will stop now.  Don't want to bore you.  I WILL be back tomorrow with  the days events.  And as always...

Fat Tuesday...Happy Mardi Gras

It's Mardi Gras time here.  That means parades, dressing up in purple, green, and gold, and king cake, and moon pies.   I got a mask to wear, but you know me.  That's just not me.  So glad it came from the dollar store.  We had a Mardi Gras  potluck at the resort.  I served and cleaned up.  Still had a really good time.  It's like the rain and the boat parade...still lots of fun.  Did not let it spoil a thing.

Still no pics for the blog.  I downloaded my pics of the boat parade from the camera to my ipad.  Thought that might do it.  So far it's a no go.  Think I'll go to an Apple store and see if they can be of any assistance.  Blogging without photos, just really lacks something.  I try, but as you know, it hasn't been happening much.

We have about 57 days left here.  Not that anyone is counting, mind you.  We've been here 3 months now.  That's about it for Tim.  Sometimes, me too.  But for different reasons than Tim.  Memorial Day thru Labor Day will be spent at Lake Norman RV Resort in NC.  The first week in October will take us to Biloxi, well actually it will be Bay St. Louis, MS.  Then our plans stop.  Tim is working very hard to find the perfect spot for our winter stay.  He would like to locate to a warmer place to be in the colder months.  Will keep you informed when he decides on a location.

Well it's past my bedtime so I'll close for now.  I really do like talking to y'all once I get started.  I think that's called motivation.

Wednesday, I'm back

It's about 6:00 pm, 47 degrees with a fine mist falling, and we are hankering down for the night.  Had lunch with Janet and Max, another workamping couple.  They came in a couple months before us.  They are from Fort Wayne, IN.  We had lunch at Lamberts in Foley.  Very good food, but they feed you way too much.  As soon as my food arrived, I asked for a to go box, and three quarters of my meal went in.  I still had plenty to eat.  This place serves you free fixins they call "pass arounds". along with your entree.  Tim ordered liver & onions.  Sounds yummmmmmy huh!  NOT ONE LITTLE BIT.  The rest of us tried the pulled pork.  Such a good choice.  The extras were fried taters and onions, fried okra, boiled cabbage, and my fave, Mac and tomatoes.  Along with their huge rolls that they toss at you, homemade apple butter and sorghum was also on hand.  Thought I would finish off my lunch tonight, but I am not one bit hungry.  And neither is Tim.  Even my brain is sluggish.  I am really struggling with this note.

Tim and I have not been doing much in the last week or so.  Lots of rain.  And I just want to stay in.  With working 4 and 5 days a week in the rain, Tim has been ready for our almost toasty place.  His man cave is usually way to hot for me.  I stay out in the front, and he's in the back, either watching tv or searching the Internet.

All three of us have been doing great.  But you know, think we might be itchin' to move on.  North Carolina is calling us home.  Looks like we will be there thru the summer.  I might get some kayaking in on my time off.  Can't wait for that.

I do have some exciting news...I'm an aunt again...Jack Grady Evans arrived Monday.  He and his folks, Jeff and Katie are all doing great.  I received an email with his photo, so hoping I can share him with y'all.  I'm going to give it a try.......here it goes!!!  THATS A BIG FAT NO!  So sorry, he is so cute, has lots of black hair and he's a big baby.

Guess that's it for now.  Try to stay dry and warm everyone of y'all.  Miss you.

Monday, BOOHOO BRONCOS

Sooo sad for my Colorado family and other family members and everyone else who was dreaming of the Broncos being the Super Bowl winner.  Maybe next year!

Good morning to y'all.  It's warm, 60 and wet and windy here in Foley AL.  The sky looks like defeated Bronco followers.  We had a big group watching the game on the resorts giant projection screen.  One table only was SeaHawks fans and the rest 14 tables were rooting for the Broncos.  Sometimes when your team is losing, might be better watching them on a regular tv.  But if we would have been winning or even watching our good plays, man oh man.  Loved it.

We are doing great.  Hoping y'all are also.  Jacki is a bit under, could use your prayers.  My nephew Jeff, Tina's middle son, is waiting, but not too patiently I might add, for his and Katie's arrival from Jack Grady, their first baby.  Jack's entrance date is Feb 9.  Please remember them also.

Tim and I are both working today...9-12.  Guess I better close for now and get ready.
Hoping winter weather is gone and spring is around the corner.

Enjoy today.  Make someone laugh.  Give love.

PS...still no pics.

Wednesday, Freezer Cold

Morning y'all, I am not going to complain about my RealFeel temp of 11 cause most of my readers are worse than us.  Holy Moly but our arthritic joints are screaming with pain.  As I have said before our coach is definitely NOT  a cold weather coach.  Way to many windows, even though they are double pane...need to be triple or more for this weather.  And also again, I agree with Tim that we are not far enough south.  Lesson to remember for next winter.  Besides the cold and wind, we have hard ice all over.  The office here is closed and we are working from our coach.

I certainly hope y'all stay safe and warm through this winter blast.  Wishing this will be our last.

Still not functioning with photos and this blog.  So for now, just know why no pics.  I am still taking pictures especially of sunrises and sunsets.  Not doing much or going places lately that warrent picture taking.  My COLD weather gear is very limited, so I just put on layer upon layer.  Not really much fun walking the beach, feeling like a bear.

Closing for now.  Sending out notice that we are ok, praying y'all are also.

Wednesday, A New Beginning

This just may be a new start to my blog.  I may never need to borrow Tim's laptop again.  This also means all the pictures that I have saved on his precious laptop, I may not have the capability to use on  my blog.  So from this day forward, my blog will be self contained in my ipad.  I am hoping this is true.  Just spent almost two hours with an IT Apple person who was trying to fix my blog problem.  The blog problem using the laptop is still not corrected, but hopefully my iPad will replace the need for the laptop.  This blog will tell the tale.

Good afternoon to each of my faithful followers.  Sending an apology again for the lack of not keeping in contact regularly.  I wonder how many of these I have sent to y'all over the last two years.  I can remember in the beginning of this new life style of ours, I was sending a blog out every night.  I am again going to try to be faithful in writing, if not a nightly note, at least every other nite or day.

Hoping wherever y'all are, that your weather is pleasant.  Ours is at the moment.  In a couple hours when the sun goes down, look out.  CHILLY NIGHT is on its way.  Cold fronts have been passing through the area every few days.  Several hours after it rains the clouds clear, it warms up for a few days, then the cycle starts all over again.  Late Monday afternoon the clouds from the latest cold front parted just in time for a beautiful sunset.  The hues from oranges to reds encompassed my entire sky...north to south to east and back to the west.  If the good Lords willing and the creek don't rise,
I will post a pic or two of this magnificent masterpiece.  Think I want to try it now...... Here goes
 Starting with Monday morning sunrise,
A beauty

                                                                            To this

Ok this only took an hour to post three pics.  I can surmise that the problem is not fixed.  I am wiped out...so sending this to y'all as is.  Will pick up the pieces in the morning.  Have a wonderful day!
And as always...

Laugh a lot
A new one I need to adopt
After working with my blog

I'm back, wanted to share my day yesterday with y'all.  It was totally jam-packed with fun.
Started with a craft class making tiny beaded earrings, santa hats.  I must be a slow learned because
again after two and a half hours, one hat minus his beard.  Another session is calling my name. They are really cute. Phyllis, the sweet funny chic who is teaching this class, gave me a pair before Christmas.  I mostly wear hoops.  But it was fun wearing these adorable Santa hats.  I'll be on the phone tomorrow asking for a one on one to complete this project.  Note to my female family
and friends...if I master this endeavor there could be these cute Santa hats swinging from your ears come next Christmas.
That was my morning.  After lunch we headed out shopping for a few items Tim needed.  It is
hilarious watching a certain funny man try on pants.  Coming out of the dressing room and asking my opinion.  Now, I did compose myself until he returned back into the dressing room.  Then just laughed to myself, enjoying the moment.  Our evening was a total blast.  We went to watch ELVIS.  Actually Shane Tucker, was giving a tribute to ELVIS and was not an impersonator.  He was a very delightful entertainer.  He did not sound like ELVIS, was a good singer and did have some of ELVIS's moves.   Janet, my coworker, and I were acting like ELVIS groupies.  Sadly, she or I did not, I say did not receive one of ELVIS's scarves.  Boooohooooo.  To make up for our distress, Max,
Janet's husband, took us to McDonald's for ice cream.  What a man!  Really it was a great closing for the evening.  Even though it was 40 degrees outside.  So, now it's time to post a couple pics.  Wish
me luck.......

Woo Hoo, I did it
And this could be called an ELVIS wanna be

Nite all
Found another image I just had to share.
ELVIS singing You ain't nuttin but a hound dog.  Not sure how this pic was made.
Just sit back and enjoy!!!

Tuesday, Oh Glorious Day

This day has all the beginning makings of a glorious day.  Not a cloud in the sky at six am.  The sunrise was bright and cheery.  The wind, seven mph.  The temp 50.  All which is very tolerable.  Yesterday started with a gorgeous sunrise, which I will share if this computer lets me. But quickly turned into a mess.  Moderate temp, but man oh man did it rain.  And the wind was not my friend.  To top it all, I had to go to work.  Just walking five minutes and I would have been soaked, even with an umbrella.  So I drove.  I know...but I did.  And guess what, our computers were down in the office, so my manager sent me home and asked me to return at 3:00.  At 3:00, it was still raining, much harder.  Sometimes a girl with hair that turns to fuzz in the rain, just can't win.  Oh well, that day is over and today, God sent me sunshine.  Thank you much, dear Friend!  It will be off to the beach for us after lunch.  Or maybe I'll pack a lunch.  Yes, that sounds better.

Sad news coming from our resort.  One of our guests, Carol F, a 62 year old precious lady, passed away yesterday.  It was totally not expected.  Note to self...live today like it is your last, because it may be.  Please pray for that family.

Here is a little catch up news.  Last Friday was bingo night.  And what a night.  We had a full house.  Six tables and the bar, which makes for about 40 folks.  Last week we had 12 players.  The word got out...fun fun fun at bingo!!!   We serve a snack during the evening.  This time it was beer, chips and salsa.  We ran out, so popcorn was substituted.   I am one of the callers.  Trying to find my Ohio accent for some of the numbers during this time, quite a struggle.  I know it's gotta be there someplace.  I was exhausted when that two hours was over.  But it was very enjoyable.  The folks here are a great group to be with.

Saturday evening, I went to a community play with one of the other team members, Janet.  That's what we workers are called, team members.   The setting of the play was from the fifties and sixties.  So I appreciated and understood the humor.  Had a great laugh...a long two hour laugh.  Good acting coming from a small town.  The theatre was tiny.  It had about six rows.  But it was quite suitable.  Had a delightful evening.

Sunday's event was Mimosa Hour.  Another first for me.  Of course, I did not know what a mimosa drink was.  For those of you who do not know also, it is champagne with orange juice.  I went thru two giant bottles of champagne and a gallon of o j, serving in small champagne glasses.  Again, served three tables and a couple at the bar.
It is totally out of my realm of comfort, but I am managing quite nicely.  The quests here treat me with great kindness and are very supportive.  You know a smile, which is all I have to offer, goes a long way.  A Bloody Mary Bash is coming up next Sunday...Yeah, I do know what that is and have made Tim those many years ago.  So that will be a piece of cake for me.  Maybe!!!

Closing for now, will be back later...please return

Still no pics uploading.....boooooooohooooooo

Hey guys, I'm back from a great afternoon at the beach.  We stopped by 3 or 4 different locations.  Had lunch along the Intracoastal Waterways.  Watched a couple barges chugging along pushing bunches of coal and the other had some liquid in it's barges.  Cool to watch.  I was lying on my back trying to get a shot of a helicopter overhead, when one of the barges slid right by me.  I jumped a mile.  Crazy me. Guess I was really focusing on the chopper.
Another beach area we chose was near the point of the waterway rushing into the gulf.  The air with a chilly wind was making the afternoon less desirable so Tim decided to try a spot under the bridge.  Good choice for some great entertainment.  We spotted 4 dolphins swimming from the waterway to the gulf.  Oh my gosh, so much excitement.  Also a great blue heron was at the shoreline fishing.  Sort of!  If I could only show you my pics.  They are so funny.

That's about it for tonight.  I am going to the clubhouse later for a question and answer time on Ipads, Iphone, or Ipods.  Don't really have any questions, but thought others may that I could learn from.
Trying again to post my pics.  Wish me luck!
Guess I need more than luck.  No go, again

I gotta go, will return in the morning.

Thursday, Warming Up

A beautiful day we had here in Foley Alabama.  Hoping y'all did the same.  It was our day off, and not much was accomplished.  I cooked a big breakfast, and really that was about it.  I'll tell you a secret...I did not even do dishes today.  They are hiding in the sink, hidden by the sink cover.  Lunch was left over spaghetti, so no cooking.  Just warming up.  Then, the event in the clubhouse for today was Birthday Bast.  Monthly, we celebrate any birthdays in the resort.  Cake and ice cream was served, but not by me.  My day off.  Back at our site, Tim and I sat out for the first time in a while.  A little while later, we met two other couples for dinner.  One of the other folks decided on Rafters.  It is about 10 minutes from here.  The special was catfish.  One of my favorite meals.  It was Tim and all the girls choice.  The other guys each ordered differently,  nacho's and a big fat cheeseburger.   Everyone was delighted with their meals.  Yummmmmmmmy!!!

And that is today.  A great day.  Will try to post pics again.

Nope, did not work again.  Don't know what to do.  Will keep checking on it.

Tuesday, Chilly Day

Well, I hope y'all survived and are surviving our last few days of this winter blast.  We did not have frozen pipes this morning, or actually frozen water hose.  I will say though, several folks did here at the resort.  Tim was busy this morning replacing the broken...whatever.  Or giving help, for whatever they needed.  Me, um, I did not have to work.  So after getting Tim off to work, did some reading and a few chores, then it was coffee and my Ipad.  I really love my life.  I am so blessed.

It's now almost three, Tim just had a popcorn snack.  And poor Cleo is begging to be fed.  Tim says not until three.  Mean dad!!!  I'm doing some laundry, playing a game or two of Candy Crush and now writing to y'all.  We are staying in today.  It has finally reached 29, but feels much colder.  I walked up to the office earlier to see if my schedule was ready.  Burrrrr, my thin jean jacket was not the answer.  We have a container with some winter clothes in storage under the coach.  Am getting them out tomorrow.  Should have already, but neglected.  So tomorrow's the day.  We both have the next two days off.  If we want to go to the beach,  it will take warmer clothing for us.

We are still working on our new travel plans for next year, May through whenever.  I guess that's this year now.  My, how time flies.

Good health is still prevailing with us.  This cold weather is not the greatest on Tim's knees, but he is  still good.  Hoping this note finds y'all great also.

Patiently waiting my turn for the laptop to post a few pics.  Whoops...Tim is napping and not on the computer.  Ah, my chance.  Lucky me.

Enjoy

Not so lucky.  You might know, it is not downloading my photos.  Will try again......NOPE!!!

So I am posting this note now before I lose it.  Will share my pictures next time.

Monday, I'm Back

Good sunny morning to all my readers.  Trying to stay on track for more communication with y'all.  Sending out tons of hope for my family and friends in the line of the frigid air to stay warm and safe.  Also asking for prayers for our great-grandson Trace and his folks.  He is having tubes put in and possibly another surgery this morning.

I think I will have the day off.  Don't have my schedule yet.  If I do go in, it will be at noon.  We are 35 degrees with bright beautiful sunshine and strong cool winds.  Our overnite low is going to be 20. Cold for us living in a motor coach.  So Tim will unhook our water hose to keep it from freezing.  We have 2 furnaces and 2 electric heaters.  Inside, we will be toasty.  And I'm hoping for 12 o'clock work day tomorrow for me.  I am very short on winter clothing.  Thought I would never need them again.  So I usually just double my layers and that works fine.  Tim, he just suffers through the cold.  Not me, if it takes 3 layers, I'm there.  Tim always says we didn't go far enough south.  But he loves the Gulf Shores area.  We are now in our third winter here.  Tim is always on line looking for warmer places to winter.

Am stopping for now...please return later.  Stay warm and have a wonderful day!  Enjoy my glorious sunrise.

Beautiful Monday morning sunrise
My how quickly days change.  Just received a call from Courtney, my boss.  And guess who has to work today.  That's right.  So, will return later today.  Have a good one.

I'm back.

Everybody, let's wish Tim a big happy 71 birthday.  He requested spaghetti for his birthday dinner.  That's one of his favorite meals.  So I aim to please.  We are also going out to celebrate both our birthday's with a dinner out when the weather gets better.

Happy Birthday darlin
My two sweeties

Now, I think that will be it for today.  Colder weather is on its way.  Stay warm y'all.

Sunday, Catch Up

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S to all my wonderful family and friends.  May this year bring y'all many blessings...good health and much happiness.

I received a note from my friend Kathy today and because I have not blogged since Christmas, she was worried.  My sincere apologies!!! Will really try to keep in touch more.

We are both good.  I'm great actually.  My job is getting easier.  Still working on mastering the reservation program.  But it's coming.  The events are actually becoming fun.  Hosted a Beer and Bingo yesterday.  That was a hoot.  Today was a Sangria Gathering.  Always a get together going on. We had a New Years Eve party watching a Pelican Drop...like the Apple in NY.  We actually toasted with NY at 11:00 our time, and again at midnight for us.  Pretty cool.

The beach, Gulf Shores, is always calling our names.  Sometimes we go to Orange Beach.  We go three or four times a week.  Even if it's chilly, down we go.  Tim may sit in the jeep.  But crazy me, my feet have to touch the water usually.  It's Tim's favorite pastime.  He would live here if I just said the word.  Not quite there yet.

Well guys, I have graduated from a flip phone to a smartphone.  It is a real toy for me.  Hoping to  grow new brain cells with it.  It's kind of like my office job.  Always something new going on.  I'm on my third day with it, and can answer a call and a text and take pictures.  Oh, I can really do more, but don't want to bore you.  It is all fun.  Love it.  Tim got tired of me jokingly using my palm as a smartphone.  I do have a sense of humor at times.  So we bit the bullet at Verizon.

Y'all out there where the storm of 2014 is hitting, please stay warm, be safe and remember...it won't last long.  And there is someone else  having it worse than you are.
