Friday, Cloudy, Rainy, Great Day

This day, yucky as it has been with zero sun, still remains to turn out to be a pretty good day.  It is raining heavily right now.  Earlier, we went to Gulf Shores...to the beach.  Tim got to try out his new weather and marine radio that Santa Jacki and Geoff  left under the tree.  Boys and their toys.  There were boats out in the gulf, but no one was talking.  Then we saw Harbor Patrol sailing quickly by, we thought they were out on a rescue mission.  A big yellow object was floating in the water, thought it was a body.  Luckily it wasn't, not sure what it was.  When we left they were still near the unidentified debris.  Next we cruised around the area visiting other rv resorts.  That was fun.

Back home Lori and I planned our New Years Eve outing.  Dinner at Ruby Tuesday, then
munchies and games at our coach.  Probably will not stay awake til midnight.  Stinks to get old.

Only pics I have are of the sunset Wednesday night.

Tuesday, Oh Glorious Day

Merry Christmas
May the Wonders of This Blessed Day
Continue Forever and Ever

Tim and I wish each of you much LOVE throughout the coming year!  We are still in Alabama, southwest, sort of right smack dab in the middle of tornado alley at the moment.  It's 1:00 and the projected horrible weather has not come...yet!!!  We are having a Christmas Dinner in the clubhouse, so if trouble happens, we will be in the safest location possible.  It is going to be taco night.  Sounds yummy, huh.

Went to early Christmas Eve service yesterday.  We had awesome music...just love music.  Last night we also were here celebrating the eve of a special birth.  The camp owners provided the meat, ham, turkey and chicken and we and 15 other couples furnished the rest.  What a feast and lots of fun.  So hoping y'all are enjoying warm fellowship and fabulous eatings wherever you might be and whomever your with.

If you are reading this today, Christmas day, please come back for tonight's pics.

Hi guys I'm back.  And of course I forgot to take any pictures of us all and the wonderful taco fixins.  It was all so scrumptious.  But I do have a story to tell.  I am so naive, so uninformed on worldly activities.  Now for y'all who know about this, just think you can't believe Donna doesn't.  But I don't or should say didn't.
                                                             ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
Before I start this topic, wanted to let you know we have a tornado warning here.  So if I don't finish this tonight, please check in tomorrow for the rest of the story!
At our dinner tonight, Pamela, a neighbor at the park, actually after dinner, she left the table and returned with some strange object.  Asking what it was she replied an electronic cigarette.  Y'all know how much I love firsts.  Pamela used to smoke 2 packs, I think, of real cigarettes a day for years.  Has or had asthma.  Every morning had to use an inhaler.  Now does not.  The cigarette part has nicotine, water, gliserine and a flavor.  Hers had peppermint.  She clicks on that part and inhales and then out of her mouth comes smoke looking steam.  For me totally amazing.  She has been using this for over a year, again I think.  Pamela said her dr saw dramatic changes in her lungs.  The financial end was changed from $600.00 a month for her and husband, Harold to $100.00.  She believes this has saved her life.  Smoking this type of cigarette is called vaping.  For anyone reading this and would like to research it more, try vapor4life.com.  Please don't think I am pushing smoking.  I am notI am not.  I was and am totally taken back by this gaget and what it did.  And for a smoker that wants to quit and can't, check out the website.  Maybe this would be a help.  Again I am not promoting anything.  This just fasinated me.  And y'all know me, doesn't take much.  I live such a sheltered life.

                                                                       Pamela vaping

Hope y'all were good and Santa brought you everything on your list.  Love y'all very much and miss you like crazy!!!

Saturday, Great Day

What a great day this has been!  Started a bit on the cool side...28, so I loaded down with about 3 or 4 layers of clothing, 2 pairs of socks, heavy winter coat of Tim's, gloves and a toboggan.  All of this just to walk a few laps around the park.  Actually amost 3 miles.  Walked with a fellow neighbor so time went fast.  Truly enjoyed the smack in your face chill breeze.  Fixed Tim a biggy breakfast, did a bit of cleaning, laundry, showered, by then lunchtime, after that we headed out for some shopping, then off to Gulf Shores and the beach.  Was lucky and found everything on my list.  At Gulf Shores we checked out a couple campgrounds...Perdido Cove RV Resort in Perdido Key and Gulf Shores State Park.  Tim is always interested in new places to stay.  He loves the Gulf Shores area.  It was almost dinner time so the question was, where to go.  After many options LuLu's was the winner.  We have been there before.  It is on the Intracoastal Waterway, dolphins are regular visitors, and if one is lucky, a fantastic show will entertain you during dinner. Unfortunely luck was not on my side. At least in reference to the dolphin sighting, But...omg did I have a magnificant meal.  The topper was fried green tomatoes.  Delish!!!  Even better than that, we had the best server, Saint was his name, this side of paradise.  Again, what a super great day this was!!!

Will share a few pics of the day.  Will continue the photos of Wednesday night's Bellingraph Gardens Christmas Lights Displays tomorrow.

Thursday, Thunderstorms to Sunshine

This day has brought many weather conditions...tornado-like wind and rain to a chilly sunny afternoon.  The wind was so strong that we actually pulled our slides in with the anticipation of disaster quickly approaching.  With God on our side, menacing conditions by passed us.  Now we have sunny skies speckled with white streaks of clouds here and there.

Last night we experienced a spectacular event.  Went to the Bellingraph Gardens in Mobile, AL with Lori and Don to view the Christmas lights at the gardens and also had a yummmmy dinner there.  We strolled through over 65 acres and viewed about 3 million sparkling lights and over 950 displays.  Snapped over 200 pics.  Now it will be very hard to choose which ones to share.  I will pick out the most cool and interesting.    Enjoy!!!

Heading to Mobile, in the tunnel under Mobile Bay.
                                                        Yikes, hope no cracks appear

                                                        Now for the amazing displays

Before I crash my laptop and lose what I have posted so far, will stop.  Continue the show tomorrow!!!

Tuesday, Good Day, Sad Day

I will start with goodness.  Still in Alabama...was asked yesterday where  I was.  So for an update, we will be here in Summerdale AL, a small country town 15 miles north of Foley AL and 25 miles south of Mobile AL until March 1.   Sunny and warm here most of the daylight hours.  We are about 25 miles north of Gulf Shores AL.  That is Tim's favorite.  It does have my fav restaurant...The Gulf.  We went there today.  Love it  Love it  Love it.  It is actually on the beach and I could just live there.  All is good with us.  Well almost.

The sad day would be the death of Charlotte's father in law, Monday morning.    He had been hospitalized for about a week.  He has had a hard struggle for a few years.  Mr. Stebelton will be greatly and sadly missed.  My heart is broken for the family.  Prayers are needed.

I know I am a few days behind reporting.  So I will touch on things briefly.  Tim did not have a cold...am thinking it was an allergy attack.  He is better now.  Mean as ever, ha ha.  Saturday, little shopping, no karaoke.  Sunday, church, Fairhope UMC love it.  We attend the contemporary service.  Out to lunch and guess where...5 GUYS oh yeah!! Not healthy but so yummmmmmy!  Little shopping, nice walk when we got home.  Monday, a rainy thunderstormy day, all day. We had ice cream social in the afternoon.  Lori and I volunteered to head it up.  And now for today, sunny, high of 70.  Nice, went beaching a little, and shopping a little.  Walked a couple laps around the park when I returned home.

Thursday, Calm Day

This has been a good day.   Rolled out of my toasty bed to 21 degrees.  Tim always says that we did not go far enough south.  It is a learning process for us.  Tim researches campgrounds all the time in the south of the entire US.  If his workcamping job in NC goes well, we may look for other jobs in warm states for  2014.

I could say I had a lazy day... read some, cleaned some, did not walk, Pinterest a lot.  Always regret not being more physical.  And sure miss the sun.

Staying home this weekend, no trip planned.  It's very busy time, not many seats on planes, and hubby decided to catch a cold, of all things.

Just lost the rest of this blog.  Gotta go now to Christmas karaoke.

Wednesday, Week of News

This has been a week of little of nothing.   We now have a, well I think we have a Wednesday afternoon bingo day.  We played last week, but today is Wednesday and no one announced it, not really sure if it will be standard.  For Thursday and Friday...mind's a blank.  I do know the weekend.  Tim went to NC for a Christmas party on Saturday, visited with Jacki and Geoff Sunday, and back home on Monday.  My Saturday was a fun day, went shopping and /or shop looking with my friend Lori in a little town, Foley, down the road.  I got a Christmas flag and pole.  I'll take a photo of it tomorrow and share.  I know y'all will say it is soooo me.   After our shopping, we walked in the town's park, all decked out with Christmas. Fun fun fun!!!   Sunday... church, then out for lunch and a little more shopping. Went to a health food store and picked up some dried green beans for Tim.  As a goofy gift, I gave them to him for our anniversary...45 years.  Pretty good, huh.  And they said it wouldn't last.  I am very blessed, Tim is a good guy.  Well, most of the time.   Right Tim?

Monday came and so did Tim, late.  His plane had mechanical problems.  Had to get a different plane.  Two hours later, I saw his smiling face coming down the sidewalk.  That's why he doesn't like to travel.   We had lunch out, cruised the beach area, then headed home.  The day ended with a chilli dog, bring a dish supper.  Of course, I wasn't informed of it happening before I left to get Tim.  Came home to the news.  So with nothing to bring, wasn't going to go.  But persuation won out, and we went.  Had so much fun and ate way toooo much.  Someone made the most delish brownies.  My fave of the night.  Lots of fellowship afterwards.  Again, fun... fun... fun.

Tuesday, nada, nothing.  At least don't think so.  That brings us to today.  Again, not much.  Ran into town for some ingredients to make  pumpkin cheesecake mini muffins for Tim.  Not the greatest, little dry.  Found them on Pinterest.  will not try them again.  Cooked them in my convection oven.  Still learning how to use it.

Guess that makes me caught up.  Going to Ohio Friday for a few days.  That will make for some interesting writing and photos. Will not post til I get back.  I will have good notes with pics.

Take a little time to enjoy this wonderful season and dwell on the reason we have it.  Merry Christmas to y'all.  May God bless each of you with much love and happiness.

Thursday, Beach Day

Beach Day, did not know that was in our plans until 5 minutes before leaving.  It was a beautiful day, close to 80, with plenty of bright sun and little clouds.  So after an early lunch, we headed out to Gulf Shoes.  Tim's favorite place.  I think given the chance, he would like to live here, at Gulf Shores, forever.  We go west on Al. state rt 185.  We took it til that road ended in front of a gated community of ginormas homes.  So back we went and as we passed over a bridge, we spotted a canal feeding from the gulf to the intracoastal waterway.  There were many fishermen working the area and also some county or state maintainence workers, kind of just hanging out.  So Tim thought that would be an interesting beach spot to visit.  Was he ever right!  From seeing a couple sting rays caught, many giant blue herrons, begging for some of the fish being caught, a couple pelicans, an undercover cop fishing, and  two huge bull dozers pulling a football field size pipe along the edge of the water.  Each was exciting, but the best of the best...saw the Blue Angels practicing awesome sincrinized movements up high in the beautiful blue sky.  Love...Love...Love!

Back home, my friend Joy, who is really Joei, was walking past as we pulled in.  So I hopped out, joined her with a mile walk.  I was beat after that.  Walking in the sand on the beach is very tiring.  Then to walk some more, man, I was pooped out.  Please, all I wanted was a chair.  After a quick rest, dinner time.

Will sadly have to say, after my super beach outing, nooooooo camera.  I know you would have thoughly enjoyed it with me.  BooooooHooooo.

Oh well, such is life.

Wednesday, Good Day

Today starting just the opposite of yesterday...with a superior cup of java, 3 to be exact.   So from that, the day went from good to better to best.  If I make a mistake with this blog, it is because I'm watching an amazing tv show about hummingbirds.  I'm trying to both at the same time.  They are truly amazing creatures.  I'm back, and about the only interesting tidbit of the day...bingo at 1:00.
Some 2 hours later, a loss of four dollars and in debt for two more.  But had a fun time.

We had a warm but cloudy day.  Think we were in the 70's with a tad of wind.  Threw a few bags at cornhole.  Noone wanted to play.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow.  We made a quick trip to town, Robertsdale, to RadioShack.  Tim wanted to check out a scanner, for weather, marine, police, and fire.  I picked up a thumb drive to download my pictures from the laptop.  Both salesmen were very helpful and kind.

Well guys, that's it for now.  Be back tomorrow.

Bingo...I'm not very lucky, but it was fun
