A Week At Castle Rock

A bigggggggg hello to all my family and friends.  Sooooooooo sorry for neglecting y'all.  It's like I want to spend every minute with Tina and her family.  I will really try to post just a short note more often.  And you know, it has been a week.  I will do my best to catch up.

Thursday, a day with new excitement.... we went to an armadilla race, and wait til I share with you the most fasinating outcome.  My niece Julie, was chosen as a contestant.  She is the bravest 3 year old I know.  Julie wanted to and did, pet each of them, 12 in all.  The races consisted of 3 armadillas with 3 contestants guiding their critter to the finish line.  And would you believe Julie won.  So much fun was had by all.

Friday was a calm day.  Oh my goodness, my memory or lack of, is kicking in.

I know Saturday, went to a car show at Palmer Lake.  It was small, but still enjoyable.

Sunday, family day.  Monday,  de ja vu for me.  Jessie, my niece is a first grade teacher in Aurora, and Tina and I went to help her set up her classroom.  She is changing from kindergarten to first. All my teacher friends know what that means.  Torture, well almost.  That was a week ago, and bless her heart, still has boxes to unload.  And get this, 32 students, with no, that's right, no assistant.  Tomorrow will be her official first teacher workday, and like ours, meetings and workshops.  But I know somehow, Jessie will succeed.
My mind is blank again, doggonit!  Maybe my pics will jar my memory.

My brother in law Mike, is having a 1939 chevy truck built.  So Tim goes to the builder, or upolstery guy almost every day to check out their progress and keepum on the right track.

That's it for now.

Sunday - Wednesday Catch Up

Hi y'all, I'm still here at Tinas in beautiful Castle Rock.  Don't know where time goes.  Having a great time.  We are doing a little of this and a little of that.  Right now Tim is helping Mike mow. He just came in with a bloody arm.  His skin is paper thin and being on aspirin, bleeds easily.  So pine tree branches tearing his arm.  And me, I'm chatting with Tina.  Can't get much better than that.  We had dinner out last night.  Went to Chili's, I had chicken quesadilla...soooo yummy, even had chocolate molten cake with ice cream, again yummy.  Blame the dessert on Tim, his idea.  Another great idea of Tim's was breakfast out this morning.  Yahoooooo, pecan waffle and sausage.  Now my pants are tight again.  But a lot of enjoyment was had.  Not sure what the rest of the day may bring.

Will share some pics, then will report on this evening.

FYI, she hires out, working toward college

More to come...

This is really hard, remembering what we did 4 days ago, but I'll give it a shot.

Sunday evening, we celebrated Mike's birthday dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.  One of my fave restaurants...coconut shrimp always, don't even look at the menu.  Such a wonderful time, with wonderful folks, and wonderful food.

Monday, I think it was a stay home day.  Then comes Tuesday, will never forget it, went to a water park in Denver.  My first ever, or if I had gone before, way too long ago to remember much about it.  Now, let me begin by saying that I think I am becoming a scaredy cat.  Must come with old age.  We went on a ride that did scare me half to death.  It was like white water rafting, only in darkness. I have never gone white water rafting, but Tim wants to and I was for it also....but not anymore, not for me.  Then, there was the Title Wave Pool.  And again, just ok, didn't want to be on the tube going over the waves.  Sissy me.  I did love the Lazy River.  But didn't ride long enough for me.  It was so peaceful and calm.  Even after all this, had an awesome time.  Weather was great, hot and sunny.  We opened and closed the park.  Still nursing a cramped calf attack during a  crazy wild wave.  I am sure out of shape.  Thought I was a little better than this.  Again, still would not trade the day for anything.
And today is Wednesday, a quiet day for me.  Tina had her new horse groomer today, think that is her title.  Mike's business, Playtime, makes soft play equipment for kids, and he has made this awesome clubhouse/outdoor playground set.  Will post pics of it when totally installed.  Unbelieveably one of a kind.  What an awesome gift for his grandchildren. He has two now, Owen and Julie, am sure more will follow.

Well guys, Tim wants to sleep.  My light is not allowing this to happen.  So I will close for now.  Wait til I share with you the unusual activity we are going to, tomorrow.  I just love this life of mine.

Life is good
My life is really much better than good.

Friday, Day of Sadness

What a tragedy Aurora, Co has had today.  I'm sure this devastating news has reached across this nation.  Let us all pray for the family and friends that this horrific incident has touched.  Being here, the tv is covering it very thoroughly.  My heart is just broken for those individuals lost and injured and those being in that theater.

My niece Jessie, lives in Aurora.  Sadness all around this community.  This will never be forgotten.

Again, let's pray for all involved in this tragedy.

It's hard for me to say, Life is good for today

My love to all

Wednesday, Denver, We're Here

What an awesome feeling it is to be here in Denver, aka Castle Rock, CO.   It's been a year since we were here.  Way toooo long.  Our trip here took about 4 hours.  Tina, Jessie, Julie,  and Jessie's 2 dogs, Rusty and Stella, and her 10 month old foster great dane, Pepper greeted us in the drive way.  Pepper is Jessie's 7th foster dane.  My sister Jeannie's beau, Stretch also was here for the night.  He had business in the area and spent his last night at Tina's.  What a wonderful welcoming evening we had.  Tina fixed ribs, delish ribs.  Now, I don't eat ribs...and get my fingers messy.  But I must say, they fell off the bone with just a tug from my fork.  And I would have them again.

Today was a recoup from the travel day.   Just chilled most of the day with Tina and Julie.  Talked to my baby brother Danny, moved from Denver to California about a month or so ago.  Sure miss him.  Hopefully when we get to Arizona this winter, our paths will cross again.

I'm in my coach, reporting this, wanting to be with Tina, so will end for now.

This has been a marvelous day, little sad  leaving Chimney Rock. We had been there almost a month...felt like home.  Laura, the owner, was very special.  And a neighbor, Gordon, will also be missed.  I wrote about Gordon the day I lost my entire blog.  I will share my story with Gordon another time.  Now, back to the marvelous.  The trek to Sidney, NE only took us less than two hours.  And that time went so fast, before I knew it, we were here.

Had no trouble finding the campground.  Nice site, free wifi, cable with 72 channels, trees, no cute, but smelly cows, no yummy ice cream in a warm homemade waffle cone, free electric which means cool coach all day.  If you add the pluses and minus', you get marvelous

Had lunch at Pizza Hut.  Might not be healthy, but sure was good. The word is marvelous.   Almost 6 hours later, I'm still stuffed.  We had the buffet...ate way, way too much.  Drove around Sidney looking for a Boot Hill Cemetery.  Found it, but not what Tim thought it was going to be.  Did see some early 1800 graves.  But I guess, for Tim, a grave is a grave.  Not my thing...

This may or may not be the end  to a marvelous day

Saturday, Wonderful Day

How could a day that starts off with a parade, and did not reach 100 degrees, be anything but wonderful.  The parade was fun, as most parade are.  Next came a car wash.  And you know, we have learned in our new life, one has to dry the vechile that gets washed or else, water spots...not just any water spots but the hard to remove white spots.  Even using cleaner with wax, and the most elbow grease you can mustard up, those white spots are devils to make disappear.  Yes, we have learned the hard way.  Tim has washed the coach twice without drying it.  Maybe he is a slow learner, but hopeful that it would not happen again.  It did.  So after washing the jeep today, Tim dried the front, I was on the back.  And, what a beauty Sunny, my jeep, ended up.  Tim just finished shining the bumpers and fenders with Mothers, Back to Black.  That stuff is magic.

Our day is closing down with a little tv...Ball Boys, show about sports memoribilia.  It's pretty cool.  Different.

One more day here, then its off to Cabelas in Sidney, Nebraska.  Cabelas is like Pro Bass.  We will be staying overnight Monday in their campground.

Just a few pics from the Oregon Trail Days Parade.  Please enjoy.....
