This has been a very peaceful day. We had rain during the night. It washed everything off and the landscape...meaning Chimney Rock and the surrounding mountains, were sparkling in the morning sunshine. Their colors were some I had not seen. Even the grass at our campsite was a richer green.
After a little cleaning, a little laundry, a little bike ride, a little lunch, we ventured off to the big city again for supplies. Tim decided we could find the mall in Scottsbluff, the big city, and get a little walking exercise in. And I do mean little. The mall was very small and half the stores were empty. Within a short distance away, you have a Target, Walmart, and Kmart. Guess that explains why JCPenneys is leaving. The town is not very large, population about 15,000...established in 1900. On the way home, passed another small quaint town, Minatare, with population of only 871. Saw their water tower, so Tim tried to get me close enough for a pic. Atta boy Tim, good job.
Minatare, NE...established 1887
There are still rut marks in the meadows
made by the pioneers on the Oregon Trail
Its about 10 minutes from my campground
Tim dropped me off the The Trading Post...campground store, for none other than another warm waffle cone ice cream. They were out of peanut butter, guess I ate it all, strawberry cheesecake was my choice. It was good but the peanut butter has it beat.
This has been a wonderful day
Sure do hope everyone reading this also had a wonderful day.
Life is good
Nite all
